According to the official Aion website, a few days ago one of their most popular fansites was hacked during the week and, as a result of this, the hackers gained access to the website's e-mail database. Now, any fan of the various Aion database and forum websites, may already know which site was hit, but the Aion team is warning players that these emails may result in more "phishing" attempts by hackers to get players to compromise their accounts. This is typically achieved by sending "fake" emails, pretending to be NCsoft staff or an in-game GM, where the player is required to visit a link, or even prompted to "change" his or her password.
Once more, the Aion team is warning players against these increased "phishing" attempts, and NCsoft says that any emails you receive you should cross reference to the main Aion webpage and follow those instructions instead.
