RIFT is introducing an innovative new program that allows players to get items for free when they spend money or money-substitutes on other items! Creative Director Bill Fisher chimed in with a new dev blog this week to offer a preview of what's in store for players with the new Loyalty system.
In the new system, players can gain Loyalty by spending cash in RIFT, purchasing or spending credits, subscribing to the game, and consuming REX, the new in-game microtransaction currency. As the Loyalty meter fills up new rewards such as consumables, cosmetic items, and exclusive costumes will be unlocked.
Players that have already earned Veteran Rewards in the current system will be getting a head start with bonus Loyalty based on their subscription time to the game. This is all part of RIFT's free-to-play initiative and will be going live on June 12th with RIFT 2.3: Empyreal Assault.
