Q.

How do I purchase items from another adventurer's bazaar?

A.

The following post will provide a detailed outline of not only how to purchase items, but how to navigate the bazaar interface, sell items to adventurers seeking to buy, and mend the items of those seeking repairs.

Viewing a Bazaar
First, locate an adventurer holding a bazaar. These players can easily be distinguished by the following icons situated to the left of their display name:

Selling/Seeking Items

  Seeking Repairs

Adventurers selling/seeking items and seeking repairs will have both icons displayed.

Next, target the adventurer and select Browse from the Interactions options located within the main menu.

The following interface will be displayed:

  1. The bazaar-holder's name
  2. Your current inventory capacity
  3. Your current gil total
  4. The list of bazaar items
  5. Details of the bazaar item you have currently selected.

Bazaar List Icons:

Selling (by unit)
Selling (by set)
Seeking
Damaged

Purchasing Items by Unit
First, target an item with the "Selling (by unit)" icon. For example, the screenshot below shows 8 Gridanian walnuts available for the price of 100 gil each.

Selecting that item will bring up the following prompt:

After selecting how many of the item you wish to purchase, press the Accept button to complete the transaction. The screenshot below shows a purchase of 5 Gridanian walnuts for a total sum of 500 gil.

Purchasing Items by Set
First, target an item with the "Selling (by set)" icon. For example, the screenshot below shows a set of 12 Gridanian walnuts available for the price of 1,000 gil. Note that the number of items in a set is displayed in parentheses, as opposed to the number of individual items for sale, which is displayed without.

Selecting that item will bring up the following prompt:

Press Accept to complete the transaction. Remember that items being sold in a set cannot be purchased individually.

* Pressing Accept with a full inventory will nullify the transaction.
* Only 9,999 of any one type of shard or crystal can be carried in one's inventory. If at any time a player obtains more than 9,999, the difference will be discarded.

Selling Sought Items
Some players use their bazaars not only to sell items, but to purchase them as well. If you have an item in your inventory that another adventurer is seeking, you can use the bazaar interface to sell it. For example, the screenshot below shows a PC seeking to buy a set of 10 fire shards for the price of 1,000 gil.

Selecting that item will bring up the following prompt. Select the item again to complete the transaction.

Repairing a Damaged Item
If you are the right class, and possess the proper materials in your inventory, you can attempt to repair a bazaar-holder's damaged items. Targeting the damaged item will display its condition, the class and materials required to repair it, and the reward being offered. For example, the screenshot below shows a PC offering a reward of 300 gil for anyone who is successful in repairing his weathered tabard.

Make sure that you have equipped the proper tools and changed to the relevant class before attempting any repairs.

Once you have made all the necessary preparations, select the damaged item to bring up the following prompt. The necessary materials will already be set, and you only need to select your main or off hand tool to begin the repairs.

* If your inventory contains repair materials of varying qualities (+1, +2, etc.), the item of the lowest quality will always be the one set.

If the repairs are successful, the reward money will be transferred into your wallet. Depending on the relative difficulty of the synthesis, you may even earn skill points. If the repairs fail, no reward will be earned and the materials used will be lost.
