If there's one genre of video game that knows how to get into the Christmas spirit, it might be the massively multiplayer online (MMO) space. A few of these top PC titles are gathering together its users for holiday festivities, many of which are already under way. Here's a breakdown of just a few of the events:
Aion
Event: Solorious Festival
Details: According to Crispy Gamer, the event will feature festive garb and fireworks to honor Daevas - human characters in the fantasy game - for their service to humanity. Aion publishers NCsoft are also hosting a video contest where players can win a slew of PC gear.
Warhammer Online
Event: Dwarf New Year's Festival of Keg End
Details: According to the official page from Mythic's website, the online event will feature "the things Dwarfs like best - beer, boasting and things that explode." Keg End will offer a variety of events, monsters and rare items for players to collect, such as the Golden Stein and personal keg-carrying servants for the Dwarf and Goblin classes.
World of Warcraft
Event: Feast of Winter Veil
Details: Hosted by Greatfather Winter, who looks very similar to Santa Claus, the event features unique bosses for parties to encounter, such as Grand Magus Telestra. Defeating these foes earn honors such as holiday winter hats. Innkeepers will add holiday decorations to their establishments, and players and give gifts to each other from December 25-January 2.
